What is your favorite version of the Bible?
Do you prefer to use the King James Version, the New International Version, the Revised Standard Version, the New Living Translation, the Good News Version or another?
Why do you prefer the version you use? Do you consider it more reliable? Closer to the origional texts? Easier to read?...........

NIV...it's put into words that are better suited for today's soiciety...but not taking anything away from original content...

I prefer the King James and I think because I was raised in a very traditional church and it is what was normal. My husband reads the NLT and was raised in as well as worship leader for almost 20 years in a more charismatic church. We study our bibles together though and it works out great and we actually like seeing how certain passages are interpreted between the two versions.

It's almost the best, I'd think, to include more than just one version in any study......to do just what you said, Jeannette........to get a better grasp of how each different version interprets the text.

I like the King James version as well, I've quoted it many times throughout some religious arguments I've had. And boy those are ALWAYS fun <--- *Sarcasm*
