Claims Help This will link you to a phamplet that shows you how to appeal a claim if you feel it does not suffice Link: www.va.gov/vbs/bva/pamphlet.htmRead this before any exam you have at the VA. Watch for everything they test for during an exam. Mistakes can be made and it takes far too long to correct that mistake once it's on the claim. These 57 Disability Examination Worksheets are in use both by the doctors of VHA (Veterans Health Administration) who do the disability examinations and by the rating specialists, hearing officers, and Decision Review Officers of VBA (Veterans Benefits Administration) who do the disability evaluations. Welcome Home Bonuses Recently I was contacted by an Rhode Island OIF Veteran asking if I knew anything about a welcome home check from each state. One of his buddies whom he served with in Iraq from Massachusetts said the state sent him a $1000.00 check as a "welcome home" gift. I've found out that some other states do this same deal but realize Rhode Island veterans don't have that privilege. If you are from any state and do in fact receive a "welcome home" check, e-mail me as I am interested to see which states do this. This service has been around since the Vietnam War and would like to see all the states do something like this.
