Bruised a rib a couple weeks ago, hasn't begun to get better yet. Fun, fun. Anybody got some good advice on handling this? I already gave my doctor a call and set up an appointment, it's just until then I gotta hang in for a couple weeks. I want to be up and running ASAP!
At least this is less of an annoyance than the two times I broke the same arm in almost the same place.

Not much you can do I think. I bruised a few ribs a year or two ago and it took about a month for it to get better.
I'd say just put ice on it, that should help a little with the bruising, other then that not much else from what I know.

Well I did fall on cement so I'm not 100% sure they're bruised. That's why I'll get the docs opinion on it. But yeah I've iced it plenty of times. Anyways thanks for the tips, yeah this isn't my first time doing this but last time I fell on the grass.

Yeah, I went and saw the doc the other day. He's fairly certain I've cracked/fractured a rib. This is freakin wonderful. He says I'm ok to run, but when it hurts I need to stop. Basically it's just about having a high tolerance for pain, and hell I thought I was good, but this is just killing me. I guess I'll just find a pool (I don't belong to a gym either, don't have the money). And the ocean would be cool except that I don't live near it, I'm a few hours away and unless I go on vacation that'd be pretty far to go just to swim.

normally, i'd say pain is just weakness leaving the body, but when it comes to a cracked/fractured rib...well, not so much...take the doc's advice...if you push yourself too much, you might make it worse...
