Yes Otto,
You are pretty close bro... It means to be "against the state withdrawal of recognizing the church"... dang good try... and you are right about the Pope's reference as to it's origin. The word was first coined during separation from the Catholic Church and the problems that came from the Catholic church being as (if not more) powerful as government. Most words can be broken down like you just did.. it shows you went to a 'decent" school to have learned how to do that. A little "Latin" never hurts either. haha ...They didn't come out with "hooked on Phonics" until I was in third grade already, so, I learned stuff the hard way...hahaha
And WELCOME HEATHER! I sent ya a PM a few days ago to say just that, but, again, make yourself at home and glad to have you here. Lotta nice folks here!

Hey everybody,
My name's David.
I'm currently a freshman at California State University Sacramento. I plan on joining my school's Army ROTC in 2009, and I can't wait. I got disqualified to start next semester which kind of bummed me out, but I'm making sure that I'm making sure I'm ready to go physically by the time I start. I've always had the utmost respect for everyone in our service, no matter what branch, but the Army has always enthralled me the most. And while my mother and most of my friends don't understand why I'd want to go into the Armed Forces (especially the Army) . I want to join the service because of patriotism, what some might call classic patriotism, because it's always there. I appreciate all this country has given to me, and what it continues to provide no matter how bad of shape we are in. I want to give back to the best of my ability. And I thank you all, veterans and those currently serving, for your service, I know I greatly appreciate it.

I had that same issue when I told my friends I want to join the military. They were like "Why do you want to get killed?" & "Why do you want to throw your life away". Sort of bummed me out a bit but whatever ;D Glad to have ya here David! Goodluck with ROTC!

I've had my head in the ground for the last 6 years. I tell them, you know if I don't do it, then who will? We have plenty of brave men and women, but we always need more. [Agent:2]

HOOAH I myself am in AFROTC, and am loving every minute of it. I'm sure you'll like the AROTC! Thank you! I'm already making great progress. And I thank you for your support. This has been something I've been thinking about for quite some time. Since I was a sophmore in high school to be exact. I understand the consequences, and I still want to do this. You have all seen Black Hawk Down right? I love Eric Bana's speech to Josh Hartnett at the end. The one where he says that he's not some kind or war junkie, it's because it's all about the man next to him. And that's what it means to me, we have so many brave men and women fighting right now, and why shouldn't I help out and do my part? You know what I mean? [Agent:2]

I joined out of tradition and a long family history. Im glad I served and I am proud of my family. It is sad that so many young people do not have more reverence for the will and the sacrifice. I do not feel as if I had wasted my life. Even if I had died, I would have died doing something I believe in. People have a hard time understanding that. Some of us would rather die with honor than do nothing, and those that do nothing have no right to denigrate those who stand.
Welcome David. God Bless you Brother. And always know that there are people (MILLIONS OF US) that are proud of every soldier. Some of us were soldiers. Some still are. Some didn't get to be for whatever reason. We all know we are going to be confronted with those that still wont, nor do they understand why others would. Those people are part of the reason we have to do something. If we dont...NOBODY WILL... and the result of that is the ugliness all over the world that enslaves man and destroys human dignity. There is no greater dignified office or appointment for an American than to defend America. Soldiers are the true Sons of God. There is no greater love. ..ask any Soldier.
