OK so I have a male recruiter that I talked with in October. I haven't talked to him since, but I have been sending him emails, and he hasn't replied. There is this female recruiter coming to my school and I guess she's replacing him. I'm not sure if I should switch recruiters or not. I want to stick with my male recruiter but he hasn't replied. I want to stay with him because he was my first and I like him. I haven't met this woman yet but I will on the 22nd. I kinda want to switch to her because we can relate to each other and I can ask her woman questions. I'm not sure what I should do. What do you think?

i think, to be honest, since you are so unsure, you should just take a step back for a minute, maybe grab a piece of paper and a pen, and write down a pro con list...i know that this doesn't always help, but hey it's worth a shot right?...

Ashley, Do you think the uncertainty is attibutable to us being a nation at war, or simply somewhat of a fear of the unknown? (Like, having to commit so many years of your life.....not knowing what the future has in store.....etc.....not being sure what Basic Training will offer).......

So Melody you think I should make a pro and con list of my recruiters? Is that what you mean?

not just with your recruiters, but in joining period. you seem awfully unsure, and confused. i think you should give the female recruiter a chance...like you said, you can relate to her a bit better. talk with her and see what she has to say....also, talk to your dad, i mean he's a SGT MAJ for goodness sakes.

Oh OK I get it know. Yes I have been trying to do that. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. OK I will talk with her, but if I don't like her....I don't know what I will do. I guess just stay with my recruiter now. I do talk with my dad and he gives me good information and tips.

Ash, ultimately, you are the ONLY person that can make the decision. you need to listen to what your recruiters and your dad has to say, but at the end of the day, you need to listen to yourself and what your heart is telling you.

Yes that is true. I need to spend more time listening to myself then others also. But you're right, I do need to listen to what they are saying, even if I don't like it. Thank you!

Well I guess I do kinda need some help with which recruiter to choose. I haven't talked with the female one yet, so we'll see how that goes.

hey ashley, i know what ur goin through, my recruiter just shipped out and left me with SGT Kasper. and at first i didnt like him, because u will always have a huge bond with ur initial recruiter, but hey, he newb wouldnt be in that position if they didnt know what they where doing, so there should be a little bit of trust because they are still n the Corps and they will know whats goin on, and if you can get comfortable enough to accept the new recruiter then u will be just fine. its completely up 2 you. but yea i get what ur goin through, hope u get everything straight and keep everything goin good, SEMPER FI

I did talk to my new recruiter and I like her a lot. She is very nice and it seems like I can relate to her more and talk to her about more things then my other recruiter. I will still stay in contact with my first recruiter, we really got close. It just stinks that I had to switch, but he switched schools so I had no choice. I think that this is working out for the best. I can talk to my new recruiter about women stuff and she can tell me from a woman's prospective. I believe this is what is supposed to happen.....so I'm just going along with the flow.....it's for the better.
