So... roughly two weeks ago I got woken up to around 40 gallons of water in my kitchen and starting to flow into the master bedroom. The original water heater rusted out, Causing the bottom of the tank to flow out. Very fun! My new water heater finally came in last friday! Lowes charges roughly 300 dollars to install. So I called up a friend of mine and did it by our selves. Tried to use the original hardware but turned out to be a brasing nightmare. Actually wasn't that bad.... Only had one small pinhole leak. (Which is the problem since you can not brase with any water in the pipes, so I would have to drain the water heater to repair the pinhole) So cut a few feet of copper off of the supply and return and put a flex hose configuration and now it works perfectly! So no more going to friends houses to take a shower!

that sucks about the water heater...ours was about 25 years old when it finally died...our basement had bunches of water...it's in the laundry room....so it wasn't too big of a mess to clean up due to the drain is in there...our new one is self cleaning...
