I just want to say thanks a million to all those who sacrifice so much every day. Not only those in the military itself, but those they leave at home. You all sacrifice so much so we don't have to. I also want to apologize for those that abuse the privileges, yes privileges, which you fight so hard to protect. May the flag always fly o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!!

It's sad to think that some Americans actually think LOW of the military.....It's probably the minority....but, IMHO, those people like that Westborough Baptist Church congregation who would protest military funerals, are the lowest of vermin......from a serviceman myself, I can't thank those, who have served, enough for their sacrifices.....

When Fred Phelps passes away we should start a site that has a ticker for how many days HE is in hell! Fortunately it is the minority of people because America always stands behind her troops We can forget Vietnam in that statement -.-

Nah...dont forget. Vietnam was the epitome of dissent. We have a right to dissent and I stand in defense of that right... I also stand in defense of the right to protest the war, however, I DO NOT STAND BEHIND ANYTHING BUT ANGER AND RESENTMENT FOR THOSE WHO WOULD DISRESPECT A SOLDIER WHO DEFENDS THEIR RIGHT TO PROTEST.
They spat on my Father and Uncles when they came home. Called them baby killers and rapists. This was America's first truly televised war. Information (and how it is presented) is dangerous. All people chose to see was the horror of it. The soldier saw it every day. Communications has developed enough to see more of the reasons behind why (YES) babies do die in war... and (YES) innocent people get hurt... which is why the decision to go to war in the first place must be reasoned out among intelligent people. The guys who went to war in Nam grew up with Dad's glorious war stories... and Victory made it all the right thing to do... and that generation's eyes were opened (in Technicolor). War is barbaric and grotesque. THAT is why the vehemence and protest....NOT because the free love generation hippies were smart enough to know that the nation had no stomach for it and the decision to get involved in the war was made with indifference to that fact. I blame the Vietnam tragedy on a new tactic Vs. our dated conventions. And Charlie had been fighting that way for centuries, non stop, and had routed every invader... guerrilla warfare and psychological warfare were new to the American morality. There is a PROPER way to protest the war...and it is not prosecuted by denigrating Soldiers. It is presented for debate in Congress and through state representatives which make the final call... These people are elected to represent "US". (ALL OF US) So, whenever an idiot chooses to go burn a flag at a funeral, they are saying they are above the system and choose to operate around a free government rather than through one. These fanatics are no different than psychological terrorists. When the truth is, if it weren't for the Soldiers, they wouldn't have a premise upon which to claim free speech. What they are doing is not actually protest. It's vulgar exploitation of our sense of loss and sympathy. We are naturally sad about the Soldier that dies in combat. They strategically seek to turn that sadness into something ugly, not because they love a Soldier and understand, but because they HATE the system. Their ignorance was written all over the smiles on their faces. They were bucking the system, not feeling the unease or uncertainty of doing something so ugly. It's too hard for them to gather support (Like we are doing here). It's too much work to respect a system their Fathers died to build. ..and they call it a religious premise? What GOD would that be? ...not the one I am familiar with. ..of THAT I am certain.
There is NO GREATER LOVE than he who lay down his life for his friends. According to the word of GOD, God's love is ((EQUAL)) to that of a Soldier and THAT LOVE should be treated WITH THE SAME RESPECT!!!!
