I want to start off by saying, thank you. I know a simple "thank you" seems a bit vague, and for that i apologize. We all have our walks of life that take us to different places and lead us to do different things. Yours has led you to the military. You joined for your own reasons...maybe it was to follow in the footsteps of a family member, maybe it was to do the buddy system with a friend, maybe it was because you wanted help with college, or maybe it was because you love this land and wanted to help protect it, or maybe it was all of the above, or something I didn't mention. I'm here to tell you that while your reasons are important, they aren't the most important. The most important thing is that you answered that call. It takes a lot to join the military. You knew you'd have to make sacrifices, you knew you'd be away from your family and friends, etc., but you chose to take the path anyway. Your dedication, bravery and courage has never and will never go unnoticed or unappreciated. You are among the strongest in the world. You have gone through the training, and have done what it takes to have the priveledge and honor of calling yourself a Marine, an Airman, a sailor, a soldier and a coastie. You, together, are the United States Military ready for whatever, whenever. So go on and be proud, be proud of who you are and what you do, because it's people like you that make me the proud American that I am. I'm greatful and thankful for each and every one of you. You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers always.
To those of you that haven't joined yet but are going to, thank you in advance, and the paragraph above goes for you too.
Thank you!
Semper Fi to my Marine, Melody

Amen Melody,
...and to that I would like to add:
You are among friends and comrades here. I am a vet. There are others here that actively serve at the present and not only understand what it takes to become a Soldier in ANY branch of service, but what it means to serve with honor and under severe conditions.
WE KNOW ... and we THANK YOU .... because we know you took a stand. Here, we are taking OUR stand together WITH you and the families and want you and yours to know that there is a MONSTER FORCE of AWESOME SUPPORT for all that you do, right back here at home. There are people here that would do almost anything to make sure you know this. And more are comming. I have several sites around the web dedicated to support and I contribute here in my efforts to be among those of whom I am most proud. YOU. If you need anything. I dont care if it's a fruitcake or a pair of pliers...you let me know. I will FIND a way to get it to you. You are my Brother. You are my heart facing the enemy. You are my protector, and I SHALL be yours here on the homefront.
-an old soldier (and every vote includes you)

I just went back and read my previous post, and i have to apologize. I didn't mention our vets. To be honest, when I think of "military" I think of past, present and future. I know the saying "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" stands true to it's meaning, and I assume it is that way for all branches. So when I post things like my previous post, just put it in past tense. lol. Thank you to all veterans for your dedication and service to this nation. Without yall, we wouldn't be able to lead the lives we live today. It is because of you, that we have such a stong military now. You are the ones they look up to, get advice from, listen to stories from, etc. You are their encouragement, and they are your legacy.
Thank you

Words alone can never describe the debt of gratitude that I owe to all of our military. So I wrote a song for our troops that are serving in the war, and it is free to anyone in the military. You can download a copy at www.myspace.com/laurablevins This song was written from the most tender place in my heart where I remember and honor all of you. As the song says "There's a price I've never had to pay for the freedom that I live each day..." I have never had to pay that price because of all of you. You are my heroes!!! I think about you and pray for you all the time. My children get to grow up in a land where they can pursue their dreams without fear. They can live with courage and pride in our country because you have been willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Even if you do not lay down your lives, you have sacrificed your lives, because they are never the same after serving our country. For that you have my utmost respect. Every time I see one of you in uniform, I shake your hand and say thank-you. Each time I meet a Veteran, I do the same thing. I know it will never be enough, but for what it is worth, I appreciate you SO MUCH! I love you with all my heart and I advocate for you. Know you are never alone or forgotten, and I am PROUD to support you!!!
