We all know the military likes to move around, so here is a place to maybe find some people in the same area as you are now, or as you will be soon. Please let us know where you are stationed!
Let's all help eachother out! If you are currently stationed somewhere and know of someone that is moving there, please give them a run down of the area, or just some moving tips. You can share "things to do" in the area, or how the job situation is for the working civilians that will be moving with their serviceman/service woman. Tell them about daycares, (for those with little ones), places to eat, etc.

Ive been Stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma (Lawton was my hometown) and Augsburg, West Germany, so, I know a few ins-n-outs. ..as for the move itself: Do yourself a favor and make sure you label boxes.... it makes unpacking alot quicker and an easier nightmare to deal with. Also, anyone shipping out overseas, you would do better to buy a used car there than bringing your hotrod with you, because the shipping and expense is a pain. ..and dont forget to take a map. Your contact person might not show up, or you might end up where you aren't supposed to be and need to move to the appropriate location (This happened to me and I didn't speak the language or even have a map) ...Horror is being in a strange country, knowing you dont know anything. (even what the sign on the mens room looks like)

I currently live in Athens, GA and have been at Ft Gordon, Ft Benning, and Ft Stewart so I have a decent idea of what to avoid if you ever go there
