I think it would help the Iraqi people if we initiated a clean up program with their help to clean up their environment and get the people motivated to take more pride in their beautiful country. There is so much junk and litter along side all their roads. Start a massive litter and junk clean up plan. The metal items could be recyled. Some litter burned or buried, and anything reusable to be used. This would eliminate dangerous hiding places for IED's at the same time and make their country look better. Also this would employ people and help them establish some small businesses. Just some thoughts!

i think that sounds like a great idea! it's really sort of sad that people don't take pride in where they are from anymore and try to keep it clean...i mean there are places to draw the line though...some take it to extremes and whatnot...

Another problem in Iraq is that the poor children are in desperate need to be active in some type of meaningful activity. There is little for them to do compared with our children. When children are bored, unstructured, and undirected they are susceptible to be drawn into patterns of violence, evil, and crime. They have no basketball courts, baseball fields, bowling alleys, tennis courts, golf courses, football fields, public swimming pools or movie theaters etc. Parents in Iraq have poor parenting skills and it is not because they want it that way. They just don't have anyone over their willing to teach and guide them. Just as we have overwhelming relationship problems here in our snug USA, the Iraqi people also have overwhelming relationship problems but not nearly enough professional counselors available for them. While all the problems seem insurmountable there is hope not just for them but for us as well. It is just going to take some time to improve the situations.

Stan I believe that what the USA and support nations are doing in Iraq is excellent and progress is being made but it really only fixes or addresses the symptoms of the problem and not the real problem. The real problem lies in the hearts of the Iraqi people and has nothing to do with their Muslim beliefs or whatever their beliefs are. If a person has a desire to do good and because of their love for God and others they can make the world a better place to include themselves. A desire to do what is good and right comes from the heart and comes from God. Like ourselves we all need some direction. If our direction and encouragement is compromised, manipulated, or cloudy then we will live or promote a world of violence and decay. If we don't have peace of mind within our own hearts then we certainly can't promote it in others. So to help the real problem in Iraq and the rest of the world takes real courage and commitment. Abraham Lincoln once said that there are two ways to get rid of your enemies: One: Annililate them ruthlessly or two: make them your friends. In order to make one a friend we have to have a sincere heart, show unconditional love, and not be artificial. To really improve things in Iraq will take a lot of work but I believe it can happen.

When I was in Iraq, I saw SO much trash and debris it wasn't even funny. I believe if we can get the citizens of Iraq running water on a regular basis, electricity, and a decent economy. I believe if we can accomplish these task, the people in Iraq will be less accepting of the terrorist.
