hang yourself upside down and do upside down sit-ups...they are hard as heck but do wonders! If ya can't do that then do weighted sit ups...its the first part of a sit-up that works that part of your abs...so do just the first part of a sit-up and don't let your back touch the ground...

Option #1) If you can access a bench press that has an incline feature (Raises and lowers the head and chest) you can sit on it upside down and add upperbody weight to your lower abdomen. This eliminates the need for freeweights and achieves the same results. Option #2) ...of course there is always "Sexercise" ... for us guys (or lady's to be politically correct) that climb ladders all day (or whatever) and are too torn up on the job to try and tear it down much after work... ...okay...y'all gonna pick on me over a crack like that ? LOL -Doug

Our PT sessions dont focus hardly on the lower abs, but I do have some suggestions.
1) The Incline Press of course. 2. Planks - Go to a push up position, but have your elbows on the floor and your fists as well. You should arch your back a little so as to not hurt your back. Flex your abs, this a very tough exercise, but it has great results. I do a set of 2, 5 reps a piece, for appx. 30 sec a rep.
3. Bicycle cruches are always good.
4. Leg Raises - lay on your back and lift your legs up in the air one at a time. so... one up then down then the other. make it simultaneous action though

Our PT situps started on your back, knees bent, paired up with a partner to hold your feet to the ground (like the PT test) then pull to the raised position, we rocked that full pull back n forth about half a pull to a four count = one...two...three.... (ONE)... one...two...three... (TWO).....
We did 20 (4 count) situps (each set) twice per PT session I went from 135lbs straight out of high school and the lumber yard to 208lbs in 13 weeks. Then, when I got to Germany, about the only PT we did was a quick little warmup and running (and alot of it) 6 to 8 miles every morning - depending on weather and how hungover the Section Sargeant was from the night before LOL
German beer & Calesthenics... whew!
..man, you guys just reminded me why I hated gettin up at 4 am LOL

I need to gain like 15 - 20 pounds of muscle! If you can gain 60+ in 13 weeks I think I'll be good then ;D ;D

You gotta eat like a horse to get there Otto. Heighth has alot to do with it specifically for me. I am six foot three. When I had joined the Army, I had been workin in the lumber yard, livin in a little tiny apartment, and was livin on baloney sandwiches all week..
When they started workin me like that, I couldn't get enough of the chow hall man. I was LOADIN IT UP LIKE THANKSGIVIN BRO!
and was d**n happy to eat as well as we were being fed...and I kept gainin...and the way they worked us, we thought war with Iran was immenant... we were training hard, so all of that grub went straight to packin on the beef... when I came out of basic I was 208 lbs and ready to rock. Then I discovered Germany: luke warm, thick as syrup, dark brown 12% beer and went nuts with the pork brots and soft pretzles... I gained about another 20 in a month and hovered right around 230 for the next 20 years. Right now, I am 252, sadly out of shape, and gettin older by the minute... ...and I still got a refrigerator full of pork brots! LMAO!
I aint fought a match or run a mile in so long I doubt I could make it home afterwards...HAHHAHA Hang onto it guys...it aint easy to get it back.

lol Flutter kicks. Hate them. Oh well at least they're more fun then planks.
But I still think sit-ups are the best all around. Can't do too much harm with them.

try lying on your back and lifting your upper body and legs at the same time. arms at your sides, not touching the ground...and hold it for like thirty seconds. make sure you breathe...then do it again. it really helped me get stronger abs. i went from like thirty situps in a minute to like sixty something after only two weeks of doing that exercise daily. thanks for motivating me to work out more, lately I've been getting lazy:P
