Have you had any experience with them? Tell us about it...
I will start.
In 2001 I found out I had cancer.Only my youngest son was at home and my husband works long hours and every weekend-he is in RV management.I am a stay at home mom and primary caretaker of my youngest son.
My oldest son in the Army was stationed in Germany at the time and when he found out that I was going in for major surgery and would have a hard recovery at home on my own while trying to care for a 6 year old,he contacted the American Red Cross.
The night before I went into the hospital I was lying in my bed and the door opened and in walked my son all the way from Germany! What a suprise!!! I thought I was hallucinating.
The Red Cross upon hearing that I would need help while recovering made very quick arrangements to fly my son round trip all the way from Germany for 2 weeks to California to care for me and his little brother. They paid for the entire flight and did a follow up story on me and my soldier in the local news.
I could not have done it without them or without him and for our family the American Red Cross was a Godsend.
