This is like the third time I have watched the board "ALL NIGHT LONG" ...tonight I watched guests come and go.... tried to locate posts to see if they were active anywhere...but, couldn't figure out what they were doing... or where they were on the board... I been here since about 11 something last night... it's 7:15 now (Indiana time)
I think I caught up with all my threads and replies... if I missed anything, I'll catch it eventually... I'm kinda disappointed in the small growth since my effort night before last, so, my next drive is gonna get "stupid" massive... and this time I am gonna only target sites that have over a thousand potential exposures... that way if I get 1 in 1000 we'll have at least 40 or 50 new members...

Keep up the good work, Doug! There is an option in the admin functions about whether to allow anyone to come and visit the board, and read the threads, without having to login............or making sure a user registers prior to entry.... Iv'e been debating about which option to pick. Currently, I have it set to allow anyone to visit and see the threads........but, there seems to be pros and cons to both options..... I do believe membership growth was faster earlier on when i had the board locked, and only available once someone registers.....I think, with the current settings, that some may just be visiting and leaving and not caring enough to register........locking the board does provide somekind of "mystery" and "secrecy" behind samSForce......a mystery that may compell guests to register, if it's a requirement to see the board.... ........i think I may just set it like that again...... thoughts?

I agree with that. AND - By locking the board, you are going to weed out our lazy help too LOL... cuz if they be that lazy, we gonna have problems when they get promoted to "captain do little" HAHA man, i'm gettin punch drunk here...I gotta get some rest.

by locking the board you are forcing people to join (which can be good or bad) and therefore help in the growth of this board. I think locking it is a fine idea and shows that we want people to see that we are serious about our membership.

however, why would they want to join something if they can't see what it's all about?...like you said there is good and bad...
