Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

The Marines may be losing the battle. There have been many reports that the Toys for Tots donations are not keeping up with the need this year. Donations are down and many donated toys have not been useable this year because of the recall of many toys that have been made in an unsafe manner. Have you helped the troops help our children this year?
-----------
Important Toy Recall Announcement
1. In response to recent events that have taken place in the toy industry, and in preparation for the 2007 U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is taking this opportunity to enlist the aid of millions of caring Americans in the identification and screening of toys that are safe to pass to children of less fortunate families.
The toys identified to date as potentially unsafe may be found at the below listed website links:
Mattel toy recall list: www.mattel.com/safety/us/
Detailed SKU’s: www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/08/ … 6371.shtml
Added 8/23/07: children.webmd.com/news/20070823 … lead-paint
Added 9/5/07: www.usatoday.com/money/industrie … lead_N.htm
2. Toys for Tots does not purchase any toys/gifts directly from overseas vendors or manufacturers. All toy/gift purchases are from reputable, U.S. companies that will be working diligently to ensure none of the items identified in the above links are included in any presentations to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
3. Local Toys for Tots coordinators will be accepting, inspecting, and sorting millions of toys in preparation for distribution during the 2007 Toys for Tots campaign. With the combined efforts of our toy vendors, the watchful eyes of our donors, and the careful inspection by our Toys for Tots coordinators, we will, once again, be able to successfully distribute safe gifts to America’s children.
