I got DQ'ed at the Navy recruiting office today, was gonna go to MEPS but I falsely filled out the form that was sent to MEPS, and I decided to tell the truth, my recruiter canceled the MEPS appointment, told me to quit making excuses and said "See you in 2 years then." Yeah sorry I didn't sign your papers so you get a bonus, tough.
Looks like there's no way to go but to wait it out.
I'm so pissed off at the recruiters now, they told me to "Stop making excuses" cause they think I'm not ready for the Navy. No I'm telling you I don't want to lie because I DON'T WANT TO LIE!
Geeze "Thall shall not lie" is one of the Ten Commandments! Now a little lie wouldn't hurt, but this is lying to the Government, and I'm not going there.

Yes, the recruiters instructed me to lie about the medication I had been on.

YES, the recruiter will tell you anything to get you to sign on the line with them. Not another recruiter but THEM.

Yep yep, I don't have a choice, I'm going to explore other branches as well, now I know it's 2 years for Navy, 1 year for Army, not sure about Coast Guard or Air Force, I would assume it's 2 years for them as well.

I'll let you know what happens and keep you up to date, but right now there's nothing I can do but wait it out. I hope this forum board is still up and running in two years when I get the chance again, otherwise you all can add me on facebook as well, and I'll keep you updated from there.

Id go to another recruiting office. Id also bring the recruiters name to the new recruiters office and tell them the situation. If that doesn't get anything done, Give me the information. I know quite a ffew officers and senior enlisted that would love to know that a recruiter is telling you to lie to MEPS.

This happened to my friends brother. We got that straightened out. He is in boot camp right now and graduates in a month. No promises but I don't think you are screwed yet. What are you planning on doing when you get in?

I would like to go for Intelligence Specialist or Boatswain's Mate, or perhaps Quartermaster, my grandfather was a QM and my grandmother told me he loved it.

Just keep us informed on what is happening. I would try another recruiting station. If nothing comes of it let me know and I will talk to my captain and see what options we have.

Right on Stan. Thank you!
I hear that there are other things that will help to get me qualified, like getting in good shape, which I'm on my way to getting there, but it's moving along slowly. As for the ASVAB, I'm fairly confident I'll score well, possibly in the high 60's to 70's.
There is another recruiting station nearby, but from what a friend who went there said, the recruiters at that office also told him to lie, but I'll go there and check it out and see what they have to say. In the meantime, I'm looking into a Maritime Academy down in Vallejo CA, it sounds somewhat interesting and they might have quite a bit to offer me.
