I agree with Doug......actually, he's been succesful in convincing me.....I set my mind on some conservative figures.....but, the truth is, the sky is the limit......because of the demographic we are tapping into.....military, and their supporters, as well as officer candidates/rotc/kids who want to join the military eventually......it's a HUGE demographic...... Plus, I don't feel like Iv'e (personally) pushed or advertised this board as much as I probably could.......I'm still developing a MySpace site that I'm confident, will attract MANY new users.....for right now, it was just a quick something I threw together.....i haven't really worked on it much, or pursued any other advertising methods......I'm willing to pay for it, but, the truth is, between MySpace and the "10,000,000 Strong for Our Troops" traffic, we couldn't ask for a more targeted population......several 1,000 join that group daily, so the key is to just get the samSForce link out in front of them whatever chance we get.......of course, samSForce was an idea that was meant to COMPLEMENT the Facebook group......in may just begin to have a life of it's own though....lol.... Doug, you mentioned links to search submission websites where we could submit the samSForce link........do you have any of them?........have you used any in particular? I'm willing to pay, but, I do think there are some places that offer this as a free service.....

.....that settles it.....lol.....i set the board so that people will be required to login and/or register prior to see the content of the board......i think this will provide enough intrigue to cause people to register....thus, increasing membership....let's give it a go like this, guys and gals.....

the beauty of Facebook, and MySpace, are that the niches are already targeted for you, if you do it right........I have quite a few avenues for advertising this board to military, I just haven't taken the time to utilize them just quite yet...... so, if any of you see a facebook group with members that you believe could benefit from samSForce.....feel free to SPAM the life out of them with the samSForce link......lol.....or, perhaps, take a more subtle approach like Melody (read with sarcasm).....(she's probably one of the most agressive promoters I know....lol)

hm....this 'guest' situation still cofuses me........there are guests showing at almost all times.....but, the board is set so it requires people to login/register prior to posting, or even being able to see the board/content......it doesn't really make sense.....unless people are just hanging out on the login screen for long periods of time....without registering or doing anything.....hm.....

They could be having a problem with the login...I did.. it was acting buggy and I had to play with it a bit to get the registration to go through... and some folks dont understand the use of an activation key through email...and dont think to look there for it when the screen disappears that says to go get it there...and all they see is the box saying (enter activation key)... but..even after I did that... it took three or four tries to get the activation key to take... I dunno, but somebody better check that out. I already had one friend on MySpace (who's brother is a marine BTW) tell me she couldn't get it to work and she was cussin at me on the message.... could be my drive was more successful than I thought and we are losin em to a glitch. I watched em come and go all night long...still haven't been to bed...been at this since 11 pm yesterday.... it's 1pm the next day now (14 hrs)
and I still aint done, but, I gotta go get some sleep or I'm gonna be worthless in another hour
check that out tho... I'm holding off on drumming up any members until somebody confirms they can register without any problems... Thanks guys

i just registered....it took me about a minute....all the info people need is sent to the email they registered with......and, with the way the board is set up, once they login with their password, a box comes up that already has their activation key in it.....ready to be submitted at the touch of a button....
hm.....everything seems cut and dry to me, unless people just aren't reading the directions.....if they don't check their email (for an activation code, like it says.....they'll have issues completing the registration....)

Yeah, that was me...I get in a hurry and when the window popped up to get the key. the instruction was gone.. thankfully, I had enough sense to go check e-mail....some folks might not.
...but in the process of coopying the code and pasting it to the window.... I had prollems getting it to go through....resubmitted the key prolly 4 or 5 times before it finally took.
so, what you are saying is, you have the link in the e-mail itself set to open a window with the key preloaded and all ya gotta do is click that link..right? (Trying to give them a simple method)

That was just me... and I was in a hurry...I wouldn't put much concern on that..I do that alot.. now the complaint I had from "Bird79" was that she couldn't get it to work at all...I just told her to check e-mail, so, we'll see if it was her...or the login. Could be she is using a nutty browser too... it just seems odd to me that so many guests would look and we would not get a single member out of that... that is NOT normal. I'd say maybe 1 out of ten at least ought to register and drop a hello or a thank you... ya know? odd! I bet I watched at least a dozen come and go last night... but, I haven't watched the board consistently all night. so I'm sure there were more.... and what is funny about THAT is not a single one of em posted a comment... so, either they can't or there is a reason why they wouldn't... even if it was a crappy comment... they shoulda said somethin.. who visits a board like this and says nothing? the FBI ?
