Some kid actually posted this , today, on a Facebook group I had created.... What do you all think of this statement? Do you agree with it? I have my own personal opinion, but I want to hear what everyone else has to say first........ Has our country REALL come to this? "I urge all troops sick of the war to go A.W.O.L. and come home. I urge the remaining jingoistic, blood-thirsty nuts to stay in Iraq be buried in the sand. It takes a REAL hero to make the personal decision in the name of righteousness and NOT to blindly follow the path of injustice."

I saw this post on the facebook group as well and it made me sad. I am sad to see that America is becoming so divided and negativity is running rampant.
I think that many people in America today only want to look at the bad stuff. People are also extremely ignorant. I don't understand why people can't just let military personnel do the job they were hired to do.....also a job they wanted to do as they voluntarily signed up and took the oath. I don't agree with the professions that some people have chosen however, I do not take it upon myself to comment on this and say rude things. I would appreciate the same respect from other people. I will be an active duty army officer someday and will proudly serve and go wherever I am sent and I will always execute the mission. If people have a problem with me doing my job then I would respectfully ask them to keep their opinions to themselves as I don't make commentary on their professions. However this is America and everyone is entitled to state their opinions on everything.....which is part of what makes our nation great...however that doesn't mean anyone has the right to be rude.

I haven't seen that particular comment yet, but I've seen quite a few other ones. What surprises me is that they're posted by 15 and 16 year olds. Do these kids even understand what's going on fully? They blast the troops who do the jobs that no one else is willing to do. Then of course people bring religion into everything. I too am going to become an Army officer. I will do every job I get to the best of my ability. And if people can't respect me for my decision, (and I know a few of them), then that's their loss. But to call the troops terrorists and the insurgents the innocent ones really need to have some sense beaten into them.
