Hrdrok, You are within driving distance from me. New Castle is only about an hour as the crow flies. Maybe you can tell me where all the good deer hunting spots are around here LOL

I live in Carmel... So we've pretty much lost all of our woodland areas because of development. Granted, it's definitely worth it because Carmel looks nicer, but for all you hunting fans, it sucks, lol.

HAHAHA well...it seems like "deer hunting" is the "only" mistake I have made since moving to Indiana then. ...'Lotta nice folks here and a good place to raise the boys. Ol' Duggie knows a few tricks about locating the healthy herds (where it wont harm their population if I take one), but, it does take time... guess I'll keep the stand on the move Ya know, I think I oughtta go start a thread called "The Deer Hunter"... ...seems to me that we are gonna have alotta cool people show up that share our love for the hunt. Whaddya think guys? New Thread?

Cool idea... Ive done some coon huntin and rabbit huntin.. Lotta guys are falconers, bowhunters, and just into targets n stuff..
I was thinkin you should have a main topic, something called the "SHOOTING RANGE" (or whatever) ...and then you could move the subboards there for weapons, rifles, hunting, target shooting etc. under a subtopic of hunting, you could pre-start the threads so that people wouldn't duplicate threads.. same thing for the rest of the RANGE or whatever...
See, conversations like this should happen in a planning room....call it the WAR ROOM or something and make it the place where all this gets worked out... a place where each time we log in, we go there first to see what the days convo was all about, bring each other up to speed so to speak... (I mentioned that in the RULES thread too)...gonna need some house cleanin too.

Ah! I must post too I guess.
I'm a freshman in college at Butler (in Indianapolis) I am in the AFROTC. I am German major, International Affairs double major. I'll give you one guess which field I 'll be going into.
My dad's cousin, who would be my 2nd cousin was in the military. (Col. William Merkal, USAF ret) I had an uncle and a great uncle in the Air Force, all Vietnam vets. Grandfather was a navy gunner. One cousin in Marines, but died in a wreck shortly after BMT.
It's kind of funny really.. At first I wasn't really sure about joining the military... I played with the thought a little last year. If you would have asked my family, I would have been the last person you would have guess to join the military, but I always envisioned myself in some type of Government service. A marine recruiter called me up one time and asked be to come down. Naturally I did just to hear what he had to say. I wasn't serious about it or anything. But something he said planted that seed in me... some deep desire to join (even though it was Air Force) Now, as I am 6 months into AFROTC, I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. Sure it's been an uphill battle (physically and mentally -- i never worked out, just skinny) but every minute of its been worth it. It's nice having that structure there, and all of those people along side you.
You'll learn soon enough Luke, as Im sure others can attest to that (in my case) your ROTC classmates will become family and the strongest of friends.
I didnt mean to pontificate, That's just my story.

Here ya go Sam:
Pontificate = to talk in a dogmatic and pompous manner; (ex:"The new professor always pontificates")
Dogmatic = attempting to establish belief or doctrine held by a religion, ideology or any kind of organization, thought to be authoritative and not to be disputed or doubted
Pompous = grandiloquent: puffed up with vanity; "a grandiloquent and boastful manner"; "overblown oratory"; "a pompous speech"; "pseudo-scientific
and before Sam's hair catches fire: grandiloquent = lofty in style; "he engages in so much tall talk, one never really realizes what he is saying"
...and please don't smack me with the glove.. I was just tryin to help Sam with his vocabulary...
Pop Quiz Sam:
Definition for : Antidisestablishmentarianism ? ;D

Sam should use the knowledge of the Catholic Church to get that definition! Pope is the Pontificate, and hence the definition of speaking in a dogmatic way. For orthodox Catholics, whatever the Pope says is pretty much law. Just by breaking the word apart, does Antidisestablishmentarianism mean the policy of breaking down an establishment? *Scouts honour I didn't look it up... Assuming I'm right
