Yep, that's me
First song I ever learned to play was "House of the Rising Son" by the Animals LOL Then it was all about Skynyrd, the Eagles, Zepplin...and so on... I can do about 200 cover songs and have written and composed a few.... it keeps me from going insane in an insane world. ...just recently worked out a roofing deal for a new amp too... now everybody in the neighborhood knows when I am home...Ha Ha Ha Ha

Writing and composing is kinda a two-fold operation bro... first I'll hit a slick lick and like it enough to develop a decent chord progression... once I've got the tune, the trick is...putting the right words to it. First question you gotta answer is "what does the music say all by itself. Once you answer that, you start putting together a theme...the words come slower.. how to say something meaningful is always man's toughest accomplishment... LOL @ "Ode to joy" ...yeah, I woulda got bored with that pretty quick too...HAHAHA
COOL! Sounds like we are cut from the same sheet of music my friend... Last concert I went to was Nugent at Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio... It was a free show, but, you know I fought my way to the stage and the man acknowledged me there... I was wearing a "One nation under Ted" tee-shirt and screamin louder than anybody in the whole place... my wife thought I'd lost my mind... until I shouted "Great White Buffalo" on the tail end of Cat scratch fever and his next song was my request... Ted is a Fine American too. ...and that guitar I built myself out of spare parts. It is mostly a Bently Pro series II, but alot of the parts are from a Fender Squier... and I wired it myself.
...Bought my 14yr old an acoustic last Christmas... wishful thinking I guess, but, the kids all love it. Wife hides when I crank it tho..hahaha
Found a new website a few days ago called "DeepRockDrive". They do free shows based on members votes for various artists... Ya oughtta check it out if ya get the chance.

Ya words ain't my cup-0-tee...I can put the chords together but I believe the intro helps set the tone of the song and that is were my biggest trouble is...jealous you got into that concert!
My electric is a Fender Strat-0-caster...Im in the dorms now and draw a lil crowd when I crank it up lol...when i go home from christmas break prolly won't get that kinda attention lol

Oh, dont bet on it... you'll get called out. 90% of my playing time these days is a result of someone seeing the guitar sitting on the stand in the corner.... the question is inevitable...my answer is always the same... <CLICK> ...and the wife heads to the next room HAHAHAHA Some guys got a gift for the music... some guys are all about lyrics... if I was good enough at either, I wouldn't be swingin a hammer for a living, but, I gave it my best professional shot and after five (count em 5) bands, I figured ya gotta be awesome to draw the type of management and interest it takes to hold a band together and, with my last attempt at metal with a bunch of young guys, I pretty much got the gleam wiped clean outta my eye... now it's just for personal enjoyment... or conversation with my buddies who also play and haven't yet experienced the turmoil involved in a band situation...LOL and I'm gettin old... ya just dont see too many 45 year old multicolored hairdo's and piereced septums these days... LMAO ...but I love to jam with a three peice and occaisionally we will get one of the ladies just buzzed enough to lay down some old school sweetness on top of it for us... and we still draw a few. Nothing major. I think I mighta had 20 people in my living room last time we jammed... it was Thanksgiving tho. But I am glad to know I still can. I beat my hands up on the job alot, so, it isn't exactly six hour jam sessions anymore... I used to have a nice les paul, and an epiphone, but, I sold them after a divorce and been kickin myself ever since... I built mine, so, it's kinda unique. I've played strats. Excellent guitars. Ive got a pretty good amp. Far more than I need really. It's a Yamaha Fifty410. And an "ice box" pedal for some really strange sounding effects. The neighbors have told me it's like I am sitting on their front porch with it, so I gotta watch it... I have a blast with it tho... I dont read sheet music, but, I can read tabs. ...and that is about the extent of my musical ability... I dont even sing in the shower bro.. hahaha

LOL It makes you wonder how people manage to make it through traffic to actually get to the show... cause if what is commin outta their mouth is a reflection of what is goin on inside their head.... DUDE, i'm takin the bus!
