If it were possible, I would buy every soldier, sailor and marine a drink. These people are the best in the free world and they are the reason we are here. We should never forget their sacrifice and always keep them close to our hearts.

We need more members like you here, Jeremy....seriously.....just from running a Facebook group, Melody and I have seen some of the absolute garbage that America has to offer....I mean, I love my country to death (....Iv'e even had a few close calls myself....)....but, AMERICANS would post some of the most heartless and ungrateful things.....it would be easy to pass them off as non-American...... If I hear people say that American lives were wasted overseas.....I think I may just throw up in my own mouth.....the liberal agenda is quite sickening, actually.....and, it's like I'm slowly watching my country go down the tube..... I guess samSForce was also established as my own little countermeasure to all the negativity going on around me.....

wow.... "dong" Clark just became a sexual connotation? LMAO! or asian... (Korea has a new missile called a Taepo Dong) -too funny
But anyway, I see these liberal left-wingers as like having their head buried in the sand. Protesting soldiers is not the only problems with their philosophy in life. Most of these idjits also believe they have a right to not have thier kids witness your kids praying in school or be confronted with the word GOD in something as "public" as the court house or the pledge of allegiance... these, the same people that demand your kids be educated about homosexuality in grade school...
..buy a soldier a drink? nah... buy em some more armor and kevlar... maybe a few extra rounds for the conscientious objectors and the overzealous protestors... and then buy em a way to enjoy the life they provided for the rest of us... that's what the GI bill was supposed to accomplish. That's what the VA was intended to enforce... I'm voting for anyone that advocates a higher standard of post service benefits for veterans...
Thanks a million? THANKS A FEW MORE BILLION BABY!

For sure, you wouldn't believe the things I see on MyFace (A combination of Facebook and Myspace, both of which are becoming equally evil). One video I saw of a soldier dancing with some Iraqi kids, and some person had the nerve to post that "he's nice now, but that night he goes and bombs every innocent person in his/her village." I wonder how anyone actually has the nerve to blast a person who is giving his/her life so that that little S.O.B. doesn't have to. It's absolutely sickening how few people still support our troops. So to all those who do, I say Thanks a TRILLION! LOL let's go even higher with the thanks, until we start making up numbers.

And one other thing, I love the picture that says "Stand behind our troops or feel free to stand in front of them." The enemy isn't just Iraq and Afghanistan, but it's also the liberal media(they should stand in front of our troops). Shame on them! I remember this guy I met last semester who was in the Navy saying, "Why anyone would want to join the Army is beyond me." Then he went on to taunt the guy who was in AROTC, saying, "Have fun in the sandbox!" Uh ok, sorry not everyone thinks the same way you do, we need quite a few people in all of our branches, so don't make it sound like you're the best. I'm not really enjoying college for that reason (I'm one of the 3% of the Republicans at my college, there are about 85% liberals, and the other 12% just don't care about politics). What made me sick is that they had a rally at our school calling President Bush a Nazi. I really felt like saying something, but when it's about 300 to 1, my odds didn't look to good, so I kept my mouth shut.

you should have stood up for what you believe!....no matter how many people are there...but in retrospect, i can see why you kept your mouth shut...me, on the other hand, when it comes to stuff like this...i'm not so good at that...LOL

There are a Million American Soldiers in Uniform all over the world waiting for you to make your mark on the homefront David.
Next time these misguided college brats decide to denigrate your Commander in chief, feel free to remind them that thier Grandparents would not understand their lack of regard for the fight they fought, the blood they shed, and the dead they buried. Feel free to remind them that we are free today because of men like President Bush who are willing to act. But, hey, David... most of all my Brother... FEEL FREE
...because you ARE FREE and these people that protest the cause and the man are free to do so as well. Being justified is another matter. Those who are not willing to fight for freedom have no right to it. Those who teach their children to be pascifists in the face of mortality are murderers and anyone who would protest a soldier has no justifiable moral right to exploit the freedom defended by that man for the purpose of undermining his ability to do so. ...just my patriotic opinion Brother, but, the reality of people's lack of understanding is certainly worth careful consideration. I would hope as a Soldier, you would stand stronger in your cause than concern of personal safety. As a civillian and a student, I hope you are careful not to place yourself at the mercy of the obviously unjust and the miserably misguided idiots that would actually do harm to a soldier or an American because they actually believe the rhetoric they puke out em masse at events designed to solicit collective denial and popular socialist agenda. As soldier's, there is no question why. When you strap on that uniform my friend, you take up a cause that you swear an oath to defend with your life if need be. Civillians do not understand what it is actually like to face mortality on a daily basis, nor do they equate the potential sacrifice to anything of more value than their arrogant demands for the right to protest ANY sacrifice that requires more of them than a willingness to at least go along with the rest of us. (God d**n us all for protecting their hide as well?) sickening bro, I agree. Wisdom will prevail tho. David lives another day to fight a better way yes? Nothing wrong with dictating the rules of the fight. "Time and place of our own choosing" was a seriously underestimated statement from the President.
Thanks a GAZILLION for legalized patriotism, otherwize known as the "ARMED FORCES"
and my undying gratitude to all who support a soldier in or out of uniform. Our Veterans are our treasure. Our Soldiers are our measure. Our freedom is our pleasure. The next time they choose to burn a flag, they should feel free to wrap themselves in it first.

I know what you mean Doug, every time I don't stand up for myself I regret it. I can deal with odds like 5 to 1, but when it's about 300 to 1, it feels like it'd be my own version of Thermopylae, and I'm not well equipped for the battle, physically, or mentally.
I really do hope to be a soldier/sailor/coastie/airman one day (I say all of those options because of the fact that one or more branches may or may not give me a waiver). When I think of myself in that position, I feel empowered to a certain extent, and I hope one day that that feeling does turn into a reality.
If I was given the ability, I would go to training right now, but it is a privilege and not a right for a person to be able to join the military, so whether or not DoD accepts me for one of the four branches is beyond my control. I love this country, and I am more than willing (while I would DEFINITELY be scared to, I am willing to) put myself in harms way because I believe that our flag stand for something. Anyone who tramples it should feel our wrath. Anyone who doesn't believe we should be fighting, is nothing more than an idealist, and they are WRONG. There will always be war, sad but it's true. Without war, there cannot be peace.
And so I say again, thank you to everyone who is serving, has served, will serve. I admire those in my family who have served, (in fact, I have been thinking about following in the footsteps of my father and grandfather and joining the Navy), and I hope one day to be serving beside them, and doing my part. And if I'm permanently disqualified from every branch, then I will find another way to support our troops (granted it would be a HUGE let down if they DQ me from every branch, which I just don't see happening).
So when it comes to standing up for oneself and our President, right now I will choose my battles wisely, (making my own Rules of Engagement), I have and will continue to pick off those who are nonsupporting of our President and our troops one by one. Granted it takes more than one person to make a HUGE difference, but I will do my part in helping that cause.
So again I say in capital letters, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I don't know anyone in the military now, but my grandfather was in WWII, Korea, and Vietnem. My father and step-father were in Vietnam, two uncles also Vietnam, and a 17 year old who wants to join to serve his country after graduation. I am terrified at the thought of my baby going to Iraq or Afghanistan but proud at the same time that he wants to defend his country. To EVERYONE in the military, there are no words to express my gratitude. Just do us all a favor, and keep your heads down and come home safe. I also really love the saying "Stand behind our troops or feel free to stand in front of them." That would teach a few of them a little manners. Maybe then they would suddenly remember why they are free to speak their minds. lol
